We think this is the best season of the year. After a long hot summer the welcome relief of a chilly morning, the damp smell in the air and not forgetting the colours of foliage turning into a firework spectacular. It is an amazing time of year to enjoy your garden. We have created a list of jobs to do and plants you can expect to enjoy in Autumn. It certainly isn't the time of year to head inside!
We are really lucky to work in some well established gardens. A few days before we stopped for a Christmas break, James snapped this wall climbing rose growing up the garden owners house. We have been deadheading each week, however the garden overlooks a lake, which seems to stop the worst of the frosts. Not all of us are as fortunate to have roses that are still flowering, but we have compiled a short list of work that can be done of these winter months in your garden.
Spring is here and to us gardeners it feels like we are holding back a tidal wave of growth in the garden. If you have braved the cold and carried out your winter maintenance in your garden, then you are in good shape for spring. There are are lots of jobs to do in a spring garden, weeding is top priority, before all your perennials and evergreen shrubs wake up for summer. Oh and don't forget the lawn, now is the time to start mowing - remember only 10mm off your first cut!
Summers eventually arrived, the sun is shining, there is warmth in the air and everyone is enjoying the long lazy summer days and these are the months to sit back, pour a glass of your favourite drink and enjoy, as you have done all the hard work in the winter months. But even the most well maintained and planned garden there are jobs to be doing.
