Winter Gardening

We are really lucky to work in some well established gardens. A few days before we stopped for a Christmas break, James snapped this wall climbing rose growing up the garden owners house. We have been deadheading each week, however the garden overlooks a lake, which seems to stop the worst of the frosts. Not all of us are as fortunate to have roses that are still flowering, but we have compiled a short list of work that can be done of these winter months in your garden.

Spring is here and to us gardeners it feels like we are holding back a tidal wave of growth in the garden. If you have braved the cold and carried out your winter maintenance in your garden, then you are in good shape for spring. There are are lots of jobs to do in a spring garden, weeding is top priority, before all your perennials and evergreen shrubs wake up for summer. Oh and don't forget the lawn, now is the time to start mowing - remember only 10mm off your first cut!
